Floresville ISD announced the Teachers and Students of the Month for March.

Johanna Mares, history teacher at Floresville Middle School, was named Teacher of the Month during the Board of Trustees regular meeting on Monday, March 4. She has taught at Floresville ISD for 4 years. Prior to coming to FISD, Mrs. Mares instructed at a private school in the local area. Her peers describe her as caring, a team player, and a hard worker. Mrs. Mares' passion for teaching and her dedication to her students shine through in everything she does. Her innovative methods and deep knowledge of history make learning exciting and relevant for her students. She demonstrates leadership, both in and out of the classroom, and fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

Elijah Neito, eighth-grade student at Floresville Middle School, is one of two Students of the Month. His exceptional achievements both in academics and extracurricular activities have not gone unnoticed, and his passion for sports is truly inspiring. As a multisport athlete, he brings a level of dedication and skill that sets him apart. Whether on the field, court, or track, his leadership and sportsmanship shine through, motivating his teammates to also strive for greatness. Beyond his athletic endeavors, his participation in the stock show demonstrates his versatility and willingness to explore new interests. His commitment to excellence in this arena is a testament to his work ethic and determination to succeed in all that he do. Furthermore, his consistent presence on the A B Honor Roll speaks volumes about his academic prowess. His intellectual curiosity and diligence in the classroom are commendable, and his commitment to maintaining high standards sets a positive example for his peers. Elijah is a standout student and valued member of our school community. With consistent diligence and hard work, she has maintained an impressive record on the A and B honor roll, demonstrating her academic prowess and determination to excel in her studies. Beyond her achievements in the classroom, Braelynn actively participates in the arts through her involvement in One Act Play. Her passion for drama shines through her performances, captivating audiences and showcasing her talent and creativity on stage.
